Gary Locke, the US Ambassador to China, made a statement about his resign. He said he would leave Beijing for Seattle in the beginning of 2014.
Locke did not explain his real reasons why he resigned, but I think he had to resign because he may have caught lung cancer due to the choking Beijing air if he continued his job as an ambassador. See my meme cartoon above.
--OK, I am just kidding above. I believe Locke did not resign for catching lung cancer; however, the Beijing air condition is doubtlessly very terrible:
