To boycott Japanese is a joke
To boycott Japanese commercial good/service is popular among Mainland Chinese people nowadays, as the mainstream media, controlled by the government, is used to take Japan as the scapegoat for every tiny setback in China, especially when China and Japan have territory dispute about the Senkaku islands.
So it is easy to understand there are always protests online calling for boycotting Japanese good/service. These protests are all jokes, they are nothing but performances. Most of the protesters would continue to use Japanese merchandise without being shamed.
The first reason the protests are jokes is that those people calling for boycotting Japanese merchandise mostly do not know the history, do not know what Japan really do to China, they just think Japan is the enemy of China, and Japan has done many evil things to China. They obtained their history knowledge from the government-sponsored textbooks and mainstream media, they lack their independent thinking. They just think they have to show their patriotism by cursing Japan.
The second reason is more important: those protesters are very despicable to demonstrate their patriotism by smashing others' private belongings like someone else's Japanese car. Those ridiculous protesters went to the street to smash every Japanese style stores, restaurant (like Ajisen Ramen or some sushi shops) or private-owned households in the name of patriotism. It is well known those who have Japanese cars like Honda, Toyota and Nissan would choose to park their cars home to avoid being smashed by those unreasonable protesters.
But, dare the protesters to destroy some well-known Japanese merchandise? Like the Beijing airport and Beijing subway. No, they dare not. So it is ridiculous to see these protester only demonstrate their patriotism by destroying private owning while avoiding to touch those state-owned stuff, isn't it? Such protests are meaningless,as it demonstrate one's enthusiasm at the cost of others. They dare not touch government-owned stuff because they have to pay it themselves.
All in all, to boycott Japan is totally a joke, nothing but a patriotism show for demonstrating so-called love to the country by destroying others' belongings.
